Privacy Policy

vps.taxi is operated by ZTNV Limited, a private company incorporated in Hong Kong. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use https://vps.taxi, the customer area at https://my.vps.taxi and our services, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and what rights you have.
ZTNV Limited decides how and why this data is used. Under Hong Kong's Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (PDPO) we are the "data user". Under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) we are the "controller".
1. What we collect
1.1 Account data. When you register, we ask for the details shown on the registration form, such as your name, country, email address and a password. We store the password in hashed form, so we cannot read it. We use your IP address to pre-fill the country field; you can change it.
1.2 Order and billing data. The services you order, the options you choose, invoices, payments, refunds and account credit.
1.3 Payment data. Payments are processed by our payment providers. Card numbers and security codes are entered on the provider's systems, not ours. We keep the payment records the provider returns, such as the payment reference, amount and status, and, where the provider gives them, the card type and last four digits.
1.4 Technical data. IP addresses and browser information when you visit our websites or sign in, login times, and records of actions in your account. Our web servers and our network and security providers keep logs of requests to our websites.
1.5 Service data. The IP addresses assigned to your servers, server settings and resource and traffic usage. When we investigate an attack or abuse, this can include connection details such as IP addresses and ports. We do not inspect the content of your network traffic.
1.6 Messages. Emails and support requests you send us, and our replies.
1.7 Abuse reports. Reports others send us about your servers, and reports you send us about others.
2. What you must provide
Your name, email address, country, a password and a payment method are needed to open an account and buy a service. Without them, we cannot provide the service. Everything else you send us, such as support messages, is up to you.

Under the PDPO, we use personal data only for these purposes or purposes directly related to them.
Our payment providers screen payments for fraud automatically. A payment may be declined as a result. If this happens, contact billing@vps.taxi.
4. Who we share it with
We use service providers for the following tasks. Each receives only the data it needs for its task and may use it only on our instructions, except where it acts under its own privacy policy as stated below.
- Payment providers process payments and screen them for fraud. They also process payment data under their own privacy policies.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers run our websites, customer area and billing system, where account, billing and support data is stored.
- Network and security providers provide DNS and content delivery for our websites and protect them against attacks. They process the IP address and request details of visitors.
- Email delivery providers send the emails we send you. They process your name, email address and the content of those emails.
Your servers run on hardware we operate. You can ask us for a current list of the providers we use and the countries where they process data.
We may also share personal data:
- with our accountants and auditors, as Hong Kong company law requires;
- with authorities, when Hong Kong law or a legal order that binds us requires it. Unless the law prevents it, we will tell you;
- with our customer, if you report abuse involving their server. If you do not want your name or email address passed on, tell us in your report;
- with a company that takes over the vps.taxi business, under this policy.
5. International transfers
Your data is processed in Hong Kong and in the other countries where we or our service providers operate. These countries may have different data protection laws from yours. For customers in the EU and UK, we rely on the safeguards in our providers' data processing terms, such as standard contractual clauses, where they offer them.
6. How long we keep it
- Billing records (invoices, payments, refunds, and the account details on them): at least 7 years after the transaction, as required by Hong Kong law.
- Account data, messages and abuse reports: while your account is open, then up to 12 months after it is closed, to deal with disputes, fraud and abuse. After that, we delete it or make it anonymous.
- Your servers and the data on them: deleted when the service ends.
- Web server and security logs: for a limited period, normally no longer than 90 days.
Our payment, network and security providers keep some data under their own retention rules.
7. Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) for our websites, limit access to personal data to those who need it, and leave card numbers with our payment providers. No system is completely secure. If a breach affects your personal data, we will tell you and the authorities where the law requires.
8. Cookies
We use only cookies that our websites need to work:
- a session cookie that keeps you signed in and remembers choices such as language during your visit;
- security cookies that protect forms against misuse;
- cookies set by our network and security providers to detect automated traffic and block attacks;
- cookies set by our payment providers on payment pages to prevent fraud.
We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. Because the cookies above are needed for the site to work, we do not ask for consent. You can block them in your browser, but the customer area will not work.
9. Your rights
9.1 Everyone. You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. You can correct most account details yourself in the customer area. You can also ask us to close your account and delete your data. We will delete what we do not have to keep by law (see section 6).
9.2 Hong Kong (PDPO). You have the right to request access to and correction of your personal data. We may charge a fee for an access request only where the PDPO allows it. You can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, Hong Kong.
9.3 EU and UK (GDPR). You also have the right to:
- have your data erased, where there is no reason for us to keep it;
- restrict how we use your data;
- object to uses based on our legitimate interests;
- receive the data you gave us in a common machine-readable format;
- complain to the data protection authority in your country.
9.4 To use any of these rights, email support@vps.taxi with the subject "Privacy request". We may need to check your identity first. We will reply within the time the law requires.
10. Data you store on your server
You decide what data to store on your server, including other people's personal data, and you are responsible for it. We handle it only to provide the service and as our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy describe.
11. Children
Our services are only for people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If a change affects how we use your personal data, we will email you before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
